Häggspinnarmal (Yponomeuta evonymelia) Bird-cherry Ermine Moth
They are back this year too, but it's much fewer this year.
Björktrast ungar ~~ Fieldfare babies
They are big, cocky and they always look as if they have attitude problems.
For the first days out of the nest they are in the "jumping age" when they jump around on the ground. They haven't fallen out of the nest and the parents are often close by to feed them.
After that they get up on tree branches and are a bit harder to see.
While they are on the ground they have a huge problem. They don't move to avoid being seen and end up underneath the wheels of cars or under lawnmowers. Not good.
That's my son showing how close you get without the reacting. He could have picked it up.
We found this baby together with 4 dead siblings underneath a tree. They all seemed to young to have left the nest voluntarily.
A yard away we found one more. The blue "lines" are the feather pens that isn't fully grown.
They were in a very bad spot in the park whith many dogs, cats and magpies around. While we were there a dog showed up and tried to get to them, so we decided to move them.
We moved them a couple of yards to a place with more grass to hide in. Cocky as they are they took the opportunity to beg for food.
There is no point in trying to "save" them by taking them home and feeding them. Most often the parents comes back to them, and most often they die without the parents even if you feed them.

Elias grottan ~~ The Elias cave
A Well trodden path.
Utsikt över älvdalen.
Looking out over the river valley.
Japp, det är stigen.
Yeah, that's the path.
Almost there. My youngest son is already there waiting for me.
Korp
Raven
Mina söner klättrar ned i grottan.
My sons climbing down into the cave. I'm flexible like an iron rod and agile as a phone booth so I'm staying on safe ground.
Oh look, someone has made it easy for me!
The Elias cave has gotten its name from the legendary thief Elias Bäckman from Svensbyn. He’s forever bound to this cave through many stories. Some stories say that Elias lived here, but what is known for sure is that he stored the stolen goods here. Elias was born in the year 1800 and the first notes of his criminal activities are in the church books from 1826 -1833. He died in jail at July 9 1860 while serving a lifetime sentence.
I'm not sure what facinated me the most. That a tree had been able to grow as thick up on the rock or that someone thought it was worth the trouble of climbing up to cut it down.
Korp. Helt klar upprörd vid det laget.
Raven. Clearly upset by then.
Båda mina söner.
Both my sons.
Korp. Kommer nära och "pratar" högt.
Raven. Comes close and "speaks" loudly.
And up there is the explanation. We can hear the babies clearly when we stand below.
Båda korp föräldrarna följer oss sendan ned för berget.
Both raven parents the follow us down the mountain.
