Home is where my heart is...

I don't know how many times I've taken photos of this view but I love it so much that I know I will take many more. The wind turbines are new, that day there were 8 finished and one in the making. There will be 40 of them by September if I remember it correctly.

No matter how many times you did it - it's such a lovely view that deserves it:)

beautiful countryside indeed, I can see why you love it. The water in the second picture is so blue, it's lovely!

It's a shame about the wind turbines. I don't like them on aesthetic grounds, but worse than that is that they don't even reduce fossil fuel emissions. Pity.

I don't mind the wind turbines when considering the other options. Finland is building (or wants to build) a nuclear power plant straight across the water/border where I live. I still have Chernobyl in fresh memory and the catastrophe/problems it caused to the area where I'm from. I know that the safety will be better in Finland, at least for now, but I still see the potential risks with it.

They have also built a dam for water power outside my home village that I also think is a shame. The areas that once was forests are gone now and will never come back. The wind turbines doesn't do the same kind of damage to the environment, no matter how they look, and they can be removed later on, leaving a smaller "foot print" than a dam or a nuclear power plant.
